Script

                                                                            Draft

Writing the script was an important step in transforming my initial concept into a structured narrative. The script outlines the dialogue, character interactions, and pacing of the film opening, ensuring that the sequence develops logically and effectively.

Since psychological thrillers rely heavily on atmosphere and tension rather than extensive dialogue, I intentionally kept the script minimal. Many moments in the opening will rely on silence and subtle reactions rather than long conversations. This approach allows the audience to interpret the emotional dynamics between the characters.

The script introduces the protagonist in their home environment before gradually revealing the uncomfortable relationship with their parent. The parent’s dialogue is designed to feel controlling and authoritative, while the protagonist’s responses are more hesitant, reflecting the imbalance of power between the characters.

Developing the script also helped me think about pacing. Strategic pauses and quiet moments will allow tension to build naturally, creating a more immersive viewing experience for the audience.
