Casting

                                                                    Actor Selection

Casting is a crucial part of the pre-production process because the actors must convincingly portray the emotional tone of the narrative. Since my film opening focuses on psychological tension, the performances need to be subtle and believable rather than exaggerated.

When selecting actors, I considered several factors including acting ability, availability, and how well each person suited the role. The protagonist needed to appear vulnerable and emotionally conflicted, while the parent character needed to convey authority and control.

I also considered how the actors interacted with each other, as their on-screen chemistry would influence how realistic the relationship appears. Strong performances are particularly important in psychological thrillers because much of the narrative meaning is communicated through facial expressions and body language.

By carefully selecting actors who could embody these roles, I aim to create a convincing emotional dynamic that supports the themes of the story.
