Visual Outline
Storyboards provide a visual plan of how the film will be shot. Each frame represents a specific camera angle or movement, helping the filmmaker visualise how the narrative will unfold on screen.
Creating my storyboard allowed me to carefully plan the composition of each shot. Early shots focus on establishing the setting and introducing the protagonist, while later shots become more intimate through the use of close-ups.
This progression mirrors the emotional development of the opening. As tension increases, the camera moves closer to the characters, emphasising their emotional reactions.
The storyboard also helps ensure that filming will run smoothly because the necessary shots have already been planned.
